Job summary

Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) UK seeks a Principal Electronics Engineer in Belfast to lead the design of state-of-the-art electronic systems across the product lifecycle. You will mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure the best-in-class performance for missions.

You will define, test and verify electronic assemblies, oversee regulatory compliance, and contribute to bids while collaborating across defence, space, and digital

Qualifications

• Engineering, Scientific or Numerate degree with deep understanding of electronic design.
• Proven experience leading electronic engineering development and life cycle activities.
• Experience in safety-critical equipment design and DFT/DFM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of circuit assemblies and systems.
• Develop electronics architectures to meet requirements.
• Lead component and sub-system selection and evaluation.
• Create electronics schematics and PCB layouts.
• Define testing, validation and debugging of circuits.
• Support integration testing of electronic assemblies.
• Produce electronics specifications and verification plans.
• Ensure compliance to regulatory standards.
• Contribute to bids and estimating activities.
