Job summary

Ultra Maritime is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer to lead electronic design across defence and aerospace projects, driving high‑integrity electronics delivery and design reviews with cross‑functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, support governance, and collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical and Production to ensure robust, compliant solutions while upholding security and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced design experience delivering complex, multi‑layer boards for defence/aerospace.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills within engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement in customer‑focused environments.
• Chartered Engineer preferred, or able to achieve chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.) to ensure performance and safety requirements.
• Deliver reliable, high‑integrity electronics for defence/aerospace applications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and systems engineering to optimise design and manufacturability.
• Support recruitment, induction and development activities within the team.
