Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for major wastewater treatment and bioresources projects at our Raynesway office in Derby. You will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to handover, ensuring designs are safe, compliant with UK standards and aligned with operational needs.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it, strong collaboration with multidisciplinary

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or progress toward chartership.
Significant utilities project experience.
Strong knowledge of UK water and wastewater processes, assets and standards.
Proven ability to deliver outline and detailed electrical design for complex infrastructure.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of electrical engineering solutions for wastewater and bioresources projects.
Act as the electrical engineering technical authority on assigned projects.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers and designers.
Promote engineering excellence, innovation and best practice in project delivery.
Provide electrical expertise to develop and maintain standards.
Coordinate with Process, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, ICA and Operations teams.
