Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design on major water and wastewater projects in the UK. This senior role combines technical leadership with client and contractor collaboration to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within AMP programmes.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure designs meet BS7671 and BIM standards, and mentor junior engineers while driving health and safety and sustainability across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered, Incorporated or actively working towards professional accreditation.
• Extensive electrical design experience within the UK water sector.
• Strong knowledge of BS7671, CAD/Revit and BIM methodologies.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design projects and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of water and wastewater projects.
• Act as the discipline lead, ensuring designs meet client requirements, industry standards and quality expectations.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Principal Electrical Design Engineer – Water

Location: Croydon (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a senior technical role where you'll lead electrical design on complex multidisciplinary projects, provide technical leadership to engineers, and work closely with clients and contractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across AMP programmes.
