Job summary

Blackedge Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead complex Data Centre design projects from concept through to completion. You will provide technical direction across building and infrastructure schemes and work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

As a senior member, you will mentor engineers, shape project delivery, and contribute to business growth and strategy.

Qualifications

• Qualified in an Engineering discipline with relevant degree(s).
• Extensive experience delivering complex Data Centre design projects.
• Strong grasp of applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-profile Data Centre design projects with technical direction across building and infrastructure schemes.

What You'll Bring

• Qualification in an Engineering discipline, such as a BEng, BSc, HND, or HNC
• Extensive experience in the successful delivery of complex Data Centre design projects
• In-depth understanding of applicable regulations, industry standards, and engineering best practices
• Proficient in the use of engineering design software, including Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD, or equivalent platforms
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships while clearly communicating technical concepts
• Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing engineering teams
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budget oversight, programme management, and change control procedures
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or currently progressing towards chartership
