Job Title: Principal EC&I Engineer

At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Principal EC&I Engineer at either our Preston or Warrington sites.

The role

This role is within our Cavendish Nuclear business, supporting decommissioning of nuclear facilities, the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and nuclear power plant operations and build. Our mission is to clean up the nuclear legacy and contribute to national security, energy security, and net-zero commitments.

You will manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, applying your process, domain knowledge, and experience across projects.

  • Assist in effective management of the customer, interfacing with customers and supply chain on design issues, and assist with procurement specifications.
  • Ensure procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
  • Ensure review, verification, and approval are undertaken on all deliverables under your control and supervision.
  • Carry out technical investigations and analyses for problem assessment, resolution, and design improvements.
  • Produce, review, and verify outputs including calculations, analyses, technical reports, specifications, and method statements.
  • Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience
  • Experience working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams on various project types.
  • Proven experience in handling a variety of tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with other disciplines.
Essential qualifications
  • An engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, with demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Further details are available.
