Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to lead environmental teams across the UK. You will manage environmental inputs from concept through planning and construction on sectors such as energy, rail, and infrastructure, using your expertise in EIA processes and regulatory compliance.

You will guide bids, oversee project delivery, and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships and promoting sustainable design and environmental enhancement.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar.
• Chartered Environmental Status and/or working towards IEMA membership, or a relevant professional body qualification.
• Excellent experience of EIA and EIA processes with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Sound knowledge of environmental and planning legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental teams on projects across multiple sectors.
• Oversee environmental inputs from feasibility through planning and construction.
• Bid leadership, project team management, and delivery oversight.
• Manage budgets, risk, and quality assurance.
