About The Team

Our East of England ecology team delivers ecological services supporting renewable energy, residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the region. We are involved with offshore wind developments, on-shore wind, solar, and the residential and commercial markets.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead and manage ecological projects across renewable energy, residential, and commercial sectors in East of England, including planning and infrastructure projects.
• Author and peer review ecological reports such as EcIA, HRA, and ES Ecology Chapters.
• Support team development through training, mentoring, and line management.
• Collaborate with a team of ecologists and lead negotiations with stakeholders.
• Complete Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and interpret Biodiversity Metrics.
• Manage projects, including proposals, invoicing, and finances.
• Design and implement ecological mitigation strategies, including licensing for protected species.

Who We Are Looking For

• Knowledge of UK planning system and environmental legislation.
• Competence in UK Habitat Classification and habitat assessments (FISC Level 4 desirable).
• Experience in ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation design.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Ecology or related field.
• CIEEM membership.
• Protected species survey licenses (desirable).
• FISC Level 4 (desirable).
