Job summary

NUVIA is seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead design and delivery across Warrington, Abingdon, and Glasgow projects. You will define scope, drive safety, and manage teams ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and cost control within regulated nuclear environments.

You will supervise engineers, oversee subcontractors, and liaise with clients and other disciplines. Chartered status and strong knowledge of CDM and safety cases are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree qualified in a relevant technical / engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
• Essential: A full UK driver’s licence.
• Essential: Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Essential: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Nuclear industry.
• Essential: Understanding of design requirements to support nuclear safety cases.
• Essential: Experience of managing sub-contracts.
• Essential: Knowledge of safety regulations including CDM.
• Essential: Experience of checking design documentation including drawings and supporting calculations.
• Essential: Experience and/or ability of leading a technical team within a professional project delivery environment.
• Essential: Organisation & Collaborations skills.
• Essential: Demonstrable expertise in working to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Definition and distribution of the scope of work to ensure safe, on-time delivery and quality.
• Delivery of all design and engineering to meet Design Reviews and HAZOPs.
• Supervision of less experienced engineers and resource management.
• Allocation of work and management of quality, progress and cost within the project.
• Management of project subcontracts; liaison with clients and other disciplines.
• Development and reinforcement of safety culture; compliance with safety regulations.
