Principal Developer - Java, FX, London (City of London)

Hays Software Engineering is seeking a Principal Developer to advance their career while remaining hands-on, joining a new FX matching engine team within a renowned Financial Services company.

What you will be doing:

• Spearheading the design and development of a high-performance FX Exchange application, primarily using Java, with foundational expertise in C++.
• Shaping the technical vision and ensuring the implementation of robust, scalable, and secure FX trading solutions across FX Spot and FX Swaps products.
• Architecting systems that meet operational, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Optimizing Java applications and tuning operating systems to maximize performance in high-frequency trading environments.

What we are looking for:

• 10-15 years of hands-on Java experience.
• Experience in building FX trading applications.
• Experience working in High Frequency Trading environments.
• Understanding of FIX protocol, low latency, and binary protocols for market data.
