Principal Designer for Building Regulations (PDBR)

Location: Shoreditch

We're working with a progressive and design-led consultancy seeking a Principal Designer for Building Regulations (PDBR) to join their Shoreditch-based team.

In this newly created duty-holder role under the Building Safety Act, you'll lead on ensuring compliance with Building Regulations across a diverse range of high-quality projects. From coordinating design teams to managing compliance risk, you'll play a key part in delivering safe, well-regulated buildings.

What you'll do:

  • Plan, manage, and monitor design work for Building Regs compliance
  • Coordinate input from internal and external designers
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks early
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Ensure all design outcomes meet statutory requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and safety legislation
  • Confident communicator with excellent coordination skills
  • APS registration or equivalent competence is a plus
