Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in the United Kingdom seeks a senior turbomachinery engineer to lead the full design process from concept to production. You will create new turbomachinery designs and update complex existing ones while coordinating junior designers to ensure timely delivery.

You will ensure designs meet manufacturing, technical and customer requirements and will provide clear documentation of technical status for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering.
• 12+ years of turbomachinery experience.
• CAD experience; NX proficiency advantageous.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to present technically to customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to define/document customer requirements and provide status.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from concept to production. You will create new turbomachinery designs and update our current high complexity designs. During the creation process, you will ensure that our turbomachinery designs meet all the necessary requirements. As a senior engineer, you will coordinate, manage, direct and provide guidance to the junior designers in a project team.

Experience And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
• 12+ years of applicable work experience, preferably in turbomachinery.
• CAD experience required, NX proficiency advantageous.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status.

Work Environment

• The work environment will include a combination of office and lab/workshop.
• Travel will be required from time to time throughout the UK and Europe, as well as possibly worldwide.
• Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
