Job summary

EMBS Engineering is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their gas turbine design team in the East Midlands. The role involves taking on complex design work, guiding a small team, and liaising with customers to resolve issues. A strong CAD background (NX/SolidWorks) and gas turbine experience are essential.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HND). Travel to sites may be required and a UK driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Gas turbine instrumentation/design experience desired.
• Strong CAD capability with NX or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Create design concepts, layouts, solid models and assemblies.
• Produce detail drawings and solutions to ISO/ASME standards.
• Create BoMs and perform design verifications.
• Liaise with manufacturers for cost-effective parts.
• Prepare materials for design reviews with customers and PMs.
• Liaise with customers to resolve design issues on/off site.
• Guide junior team members and allocate resources.
