Principal EIA Consultant - RPS

We are seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to join our team based in Abingdon, London, Cardiff, Manchester, or Edinburgh. We work on significant Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK and internationally, including large-scale energy projects such as solar, offshore wind, interconnectors, and energy storage. Our projects include the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway, Morgan and Mona Offshore Wind, and others.

Our team collaborates with major companies like bp renewables, EnBW, and others, with a strong track record in renewables, transport, and net-zero initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

• Working in a multidisciplinary environment within a respected environmental planning team.
• Partnering with various specialized teams (health, sustainability, climate change, etc.).
• Managing EIA projects, advising on EIA regulations, and preparing Environmental Statements.

Typical weekly activities:

• Leading client interactions on major UK EIA projects.
• Drafting reports and bid documents.
• Reviewing and signing off on Environmental Statements.
• Providing EIA-related advice and mentoring team members.
• Collaborating with digital and design teams to enhance digital EIA capabilities.

Candidate requirements

• Degree in environmental science or related field; MSc preferred.
• Experience managing EIA projects in a consultancy setting.
• Thorough knowledge of the EIA process.
• Digital EIA experience and NSIP/DCO project experience are desirable.
• Energy sector or infrastructure project experience is advantageous.
• Full UK driving license required due to travel.
