An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic, award-winning service as Clinical Lead of Bexley CAMHS Mental Health Support Team (MHST). MHS Teams are part of an exciting National joint initiative with schools to improve the mental health & wellbeing of children & young people (CYP) in response to the governments Green Paper: Transforming children & young peoples mental health provision. In NHSEs published priorities for CYP mental health it outlines that all schools have access to MHS Teams by 2029/2030. As Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the team to provide a clinically safe and responsive mental health & wellbeing service to CYP & families within several local primary and secondary education settings. You will work in close partnership with partner agencies as well as having an outward facing role of liaison and relationship building with our local and National MHST colleagues. Following recent expansion, an Oxleas CAMHS MHST management team has been developed which the postholder will be part of. Experience of strong clinical and leadership skills are essential for this role. You will also need to have excellent communication and management skills with a passion for early intervention mental health support for CYP and families. This post provides excellent CPD opportunities and the post holder will be part of an active and welcoming psychology group in Oxleas CAMHS which provides regular development opportunities throughout the year.

As Clinical Lead, you will be responsible alongside the Team Manager for ensuring high quality and safe service delivery, supporting the team to provide a clinically safe and responsive mental health and wellbeing service to children, young people and families within a number of local primary and secondary education settings.

You will work in close partnership with education colleagues, local authority and partner agencies and will develop strong working relationships with senior clinical, professional and managerial leads within Oxleas CAMHS and the wider Trust.

The service has recently expanded and is developing as a service in its own right in Oxleas CAMHS. The Clinical Lead and Team Manager will be leading the team through this change to achieve its ambitious goals and continue to improve the MHST service in Bexley.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. Our 4,300 members of staff work in many different settings including hospitals, clinics, prisons, secure hospitals, childrens centres, schools and peoples homes.

We have over 125 sites in a variety of locations in the South of England. In London we operate within the Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley Greenwich and into Kent. We manage hospital sites including Queen Marys Hospital, Sidcup and Memorial Hospital, Woolwich, as well as the Bracton Centre, our medium secure unit for people with mental health needs. We are the largest NHS provider of prison health services providing healthcare to prisons within Devon, Dorset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, Kent and South London.
