Mental Health Clinical Lead

Location: Shaftesbury, Dorset – HMP Guys Marsh

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Mental Health Clinical Lead to join the Mental Health team at HMP Guys Marsh.

What will you be doing?

The post holder will be expected to coordinate and lead team functioning. You will:

1. Be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of quality mental health care for patients.
2. Undertake performance monitoring and management including engaging with commissioners and service evaluators as required.
3. Line manage and supervise staff, ensuring they are supported to achieve a high standard of practice via regular supervision, support meetings, and personal development.
4. Ensure appropriate professional supervision arrangements are in place.
5. Be responsible for and directly manage delegated budget.
6. Actively manage a small caseload of patients.
7. Ensure that the team provides effective and evidence-based interventions guided by national, local, and professional standards.
8. Ensure that the team functions in line with the agreed operational policy.
9. Co-ordinate recruitment and selection of staff within the team, leading on decisions.
10. Respond to serious untoward incidents as appropriate and support any subsequent investigation.

What do you need?

• NMC Registration, or other professional qualification, within Social Work or Psychology.
• Degree supplemented by diploma, specialist training.
• Community mental health or offender healthcare experience.
• Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice in variable settings.
• Experience of managing staff and liaising with other agencies.
