Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join our Nuclear, Defence and Civil team in Whitehaven. You will lead projects from feasibility to commissioning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external clients to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.

You will oversee design checks, prepare technical documentation, and conduct site inspections to support life extension and asset integrity.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with energy sector/regulators exposure.
• Experience in regulated environments such as nuclear/defence.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external clients to deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee design checks for energy, defence and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical docs and minimum functional requirements for civil aspects.
• Conduct site inspections and produce detailed reports for asset life extension.
