Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer for a Plymouth-based role with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will bridge design and construction for infills, demolition and trials to ensure safe, compliant as-built outcomes for major dock infrastructure improvements at Devonport.

The role requires knowledge of heavy civil engineering design and substantiation, with particular emphasis on dock structures and Nuclear Safety Functions.

Qualifications

• Experience in design and substantiation of heavy civil structures to seismic codes; Nuclear safety related structures experience preferred.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure on a Nuclear Licensed Site.
• Strong ability to coordinate design and construction activities and manage queries and actions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site queries and engineering clarifications.
• Review inspection reports and raise actions including NCRs as needed.
• Manage TQs/CRs and review ITPs/ITCs for compliance.
• Review RAMS and Temporary Works and obtain relevant approvals.
• Support material approvals and limited surveillance aligned to ITP/ITCs.
• Capture learning from experience for designers.
