Job summary

Shanly Homes is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to join our Technical team and become the principal in-house civil engineering specialist. The role spans from land acquisition and planning through to construction and completion.

You will lead drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks and ground conditions, manage consultants, and champion practical, deliverable engineering solutions for residential developments.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in civil engineering within residential development.
• Strong knowledge of drainage, highways, utilities and ground engineering.
• Experience in managing external design teams and consultants.
• Commercially aware with a practical, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering input into land acquisitions and bid assessments.
• Oversee highway designs, drainage strategies and earthworks.
• Manage consultants, scopes, fees and timescales.
• Support planning applications and negotiations for infrastructure.
• Drive value engineering and cost-effective solutions.
• Support construction teams and site inspections.
