Job summary

Equal Resourcing Ltd. is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead civil infrastructure projects in a hybrid role based in the UK. You will own technical design, mentor engineers and collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality, practical solutions.

The role offers a salary up to £75,000 with progression opportunities and a benefits package. Chartered status is desirable, and significant experience in consultancy is expected.

• Significant experience in civil infrastructure design within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of highways, drainage, SuDS, flood risk and adoptable infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Good understanding of design standards, approval processes and industry regulations.
• Experience using Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Chartership is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

YOUR NEW ROLE

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading civil infrastructure projects from initial feasibility and concept design through to successful delivery.
• Providing technical expertise across highways, drainage, SuDS and flood risk schemes.
• Overseeing the design and delivery of adoptable roads and sewer infrastructure.
• Reviewing technical drawings, drainage strategies and Flood Risk Assessments.
• Managing project programmes, coordinating design teams and maintaining high technical standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
• Supporting and mentoring engineers, helping them develop their technical capabilities and progress towards chartership.
• Contributing to business development opportunities and the continued growth of the infrastructure team.
• Working alongside senior leadership to influence technical decisions and project delivery.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a technically strong, commercially aware Civil Engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and delivering successful projects.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Significant experience in civil infrastructure design within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of highways, drainage, SuDS, flood risk and adoptable infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• A good understanding of relevant design standards, approval processes and industry regulations.
• Experience using Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.
• The confidence to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• A proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills and the ambition to develop your career.

Chartership is desirable, but not essential.
