RGB, based in Wigan, is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead multi-project infrastructure schemes from a Wigan base. You will drive technical direction, manage budgets and deadlines, and maintain strong relationships with clients and approving authorities.

With 5–10+ years in a consultancy, you will have a Civil Engineering degree and hands-on experience in highway design, drainage, and SuDS, using AutoCAD, PDS, Civil3D, MicroDrainage or Flow.

The Role

• Take a leading role in the delivery of infrastructure design projects, ensuring technical excellence, commercial awareness, and effective team coordination.
• Be responsible for managing multiple schemes simultaneously, providing strategic technical direction, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and approving authorities.

• Oversee highway and drainage strategies, ensuring high-quality outputs.
• Maintain effective communication with the internal design team, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5–10+ years’ experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment.
• Degree or HNC qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• Strong working knowledge of: highway design and ground modelling.
• Drainage design and hydraulic modelling, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
• External works levels design.
• Ideally, you’ll have experience with software packages such as AutoCAD, PDS, Civil3D, MicroDrainage or Flow.
