Job Opportunity: Senior/Principal Civil Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer for a 12-month contract or staff position in Manchester.

Employment Type: Permanent or Contract

Contract Details: Outside IR35

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days at home)

Responsibilities

1. Provide design deliverables that meet safety and quality standards.
2. Identify efficient design solutions through scopes and site visits; communicate findings to clients and project teams.
3. Lead and develop CAD technicians and junior designers/graduates.
4. Prepare risk assessments, reports, and specifications.
5. Design in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
6. Manage project changes for design packages, ensuring documentation is complete.
7. Follow formal processes and procedures for work execution.
8. Estimate hours required for design tasks.
9. Present and discuss designs in meetings.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience in the water industry.
• Graduate, HND, or significant technician-level experience.
• Proficient in IT tools.
• Registered with a professional body; working towards chartership.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience with both clean and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Understanding of engineering drawing practices.
