Job summary

Strata Consulting in Leicester is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead a small team and take responsibility for C&S project delivery from conception through to completion.

You will guide programmes, manage change, and oversee tender preparation for varied projects, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to the company management system.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of Civil design.
• Experience leading and managing teams across projects.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of C&S project teams.
• Development of programmes and control of change.
• Tender preparation for projects of all sizes, including fee estimates.
• Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress.
• Mentor, train and develop junior engineers.
• Support individuals to maximise performance.
• Ensure team compliance with company management system.
• Lead C&S design delivery across single or multiple projects with support from senior staff.

• Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress

• Contribute to wider development of C&S department capabilities
• Lead C&S design delivery across single projects or multiple smaller projects with support from an Associate Engineer or Director, in single- or multi- discipline teams

What you need to succeed:

• Chartered Civil/ Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructE
• Appropriate depth and breadth of experience including experience in leading and managing teams
• Strong technical knowledge of Civil design
• Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence
