Responsibilities
  • To deliver CDM and H&S consultancy services from our Newcastle office to existing and new clients. The scope of services delivered by the role-holder is flexible, dependent upon the Client’s requirements, covering both CDM and H&S Management.
  • Understand and develop existing systems and processes to improve both CDM and H&S efficiency
  • Provide expert advice and, where required, act as Principal Designer and help the client manage and understand their legal responsibilities, in accordance with CDM regulations
  • Establishing positive relations with existing and new Clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate
  • Representing Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with Clients in a timely manner
  • Management of all commissions, where responsibility is assigned, to ensure both Client\'s expectations / scope of service and the requirements of Turner & Townsend’s business management system are effectively discharged
  • Carrying out H&S performance reviews, audits etc. on behalf of the Client
  • Liaise, proactively and professionally, with SHQ, and wider Turner & Townsend colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness; support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects
  • Compiling and creating relevant pre-construction information and relevant H&S files
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent)
  • GradIOSH or equivalent
  • Membership of the APS
  • Experience as a Principal Designer
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the Construction Industry, specifically around the CDM Regulations
  • Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired, with a proven ability to meet Clients needs would be an advantage
