Job summary

BEAR Scotland Limited is seeking a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join the Major Bridges Team in Scotland, taking a senior leadership role in the design, inspection and delivery of complex bridge structures.

The role involves leading the development of maintenance and improvement schemes, overseeing outline and detailed design, and managing consultants and contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery and compliance with BEAR’s integrated management system.

Qualifications

• Chartered Bridge Engineer with senior leadership experience.
• Lead design, inspection and delivery of maintenance/improvement schemes for major bridges.
• Oversee outline and detailed design, including certification and technical approvals.
• Manage consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver schemes safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and inspection team under the Bridge Manager.
• Deliver maintenance and improvement schemes for major bridge structures.
• Oversee outline and detailed design, including technical approvals.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver schemes on programme and budget.
• Ensure compliance with BEAR’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
