We have an opportunity for an experienced Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer based in our Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle upon Tyne, Sheffield, Edinburgh, or Glasgow office to support our expanding workload and impressive portfolio of geotechnical projects in the UK and internationally.

We aim to grow our team to meet increasing client demands, especially in infrastructure sectors (rail, highways, water) and energy sectors (carbon capture & storage, renewable energy, low carbon engineering, nuclear power).

This role offers the chance to lead ground engineering efforts on challenging projects. We seek a proactive individual eager to develop their career in these dynamic sectors.

Requirements:

  • Proven technical and project management experience as a Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer.
  • Mentoring skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Degree in civil engineering or geology, with postgraduate qualification in geotechnics, and post-chartered status as a geologist or civil engineer.
  • Experience in sectors like highways, rail, or water geotechnics.
  • Strong academic background with MSc or equivalent and Chartered status.
  • Experience in a senior role within a fast-paced engineering consultancy.
  • Knowledge of project management, client relations, work planning, and commercial aspects.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation contexts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills; leadership ability.
  • Strong report writing skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad; valid UK driving license required.
