Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Principal Android Engineer to lead the end-to-end Android mobile experience across search, recommendations, and travel services. You will set architectural direction, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled capabilities across the mobile platform.

You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance mobile features and ensure maintainable solutions across Expedia Group's travel platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 12+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering complex Android mobile applications at scale, including system and API design.
• Extensive experience leading architecture and technical direction for multi-service, cross-domain mobile initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver advanced Android mobile solutions across Expedia Group's platforms.
• Lead technical direction for multi-service and cross-domain initiatives, influencing architectural decisions and setting coding standards.
• Develop system designs, low-level designs (LLD), robust APIs, and data models that support seamless integration with internal and external services.
• Mentor and guide mobile engineers across teams, fostering technical excellence, code quality, and knowledge sharing.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve mobile user experiences and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver innovative mobile features and drive technical strategy across the organization.
