Railpen Limited in London is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to drive AI capability across the organisation, providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise as we design and scale practical AI solutions.

You will work with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready applications, establish standards and governance, and mentor teams to advance Railpen's AI responsibly.

Qualificações

• Significant experience in software engineering with technical leadership.
• At least two years hands-on commercial AI engineering experience.
• Proven experience building, deploying and supporting AI solutions in production.
• Strong experience with modern AI technologies, including LLMs and generative AI.
• Excellent programming skills, ideally Python and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, testing and deployment.
• Experience translating complex technical concepts for senior stakeholders.
• Desirable Azure AI services experience and AI governance knowledge.

• Define engineering standards and reusable approaches for AI development.
• Ensure AI solutions are developed responsibly with governance and risk considerations.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the team.
