Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Birmingham office. The role focuses on leading ground investigations, geotechnical assessments and design support for a range of infrastructure, commercial and residential projects.

You will manage projects from tender through delivery, mentor junior engineers, produce high-quality reports and build strong client relationships within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Strong ability to lead projects and teams.
• Experience producing technical reports for geotechnical projects.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established UK engineering consultancy delivering specialist geo-environmental and ground investigation solutions across a wide range of infrastructure, commercial and residential projects. Based in Birmingham, you'll become part of a collaborative team known for technical excellence and innovative problem-solving.

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Leading ground investigations and geotechnical assessments.
• Managing projects from tender through to successful delivery.
• Producing high-quality technical reports and providing expert advice.
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Working with the design team on Geotechnical Design projects
