Working on supply allows a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a range of year groups, gain experience in different classroom environments, and maintain flexibility while contributing to pupils’ learning and wellbeing. Duties as Primary Teaching Assistant

• Support class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where required
• Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
• Support transitions, playtimes, and lunchtime supervision when needed
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement
• Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Primary Teaching Assistant
