Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Chester is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support learning across the primary age range. The role starts after the October half-term and is a full-time fixed-term position until the end of the academic year.

You'll work with class teachers to support pupils individually and in small groups, prepare learning materials, and help monitor progress while upholding safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs, including those with SEND where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment.
• Help monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Supervise pupils during classroom activities, break times, educational visits and school events as required.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare procedures are followed at all times.
