Job summary

CER Education is seeking reliable Teaching Assistants to work with primary schools across Prescot and the wider Liverpool area from November 2026. Flexible day-to-day supply work and longer-term placements align with your availability and career goals.

Experience in schools or related settings is advantageous; a childcare/education qualification is desirable but not essential. An enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is required. Roles start November 2026 in Prescot/Liverpool.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in school, childcare, care, coaching or support setting is advantageous.
• A relevant qualification in childcare, education or supporting teaching and learning is desirable but not essential.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS application through CER.

Responsibilities

• Prepare learning materials, organise classroom resources and help maintain a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
• Support individual pupils and small groups to improve their focus, participation and progress during lessons.
• Assist the class teacher with daily activities, pupil routines, transitions and supervision.
• Provide one-to-one support for children with SEND or other learning needs, encouraging confidence, independence and active engagement.
