Job summary

Teach Plus in Twickenham is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant for flexible ad-hoc opportunities, with both full- and part-time options available. The role supports classes across early years in a welcoming primary school, helping pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing.

You will work with teachers to deliver engaging activities, provide one-to-one and small-group support, and help maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• SEND experience desired.
• Minimum 3 months UK experience working in a childcare setting.
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, including children with SEND
• Assist pupils with their learning, development and classroom activities while encouraging independence
• Support positive behaviour management and contribute to a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
• Prepare classroom resources and learning materials in line with lesson objectives
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
• Cover classes in the teachers absence (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
