Job summary

Academics are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in Mid Sussex. We have a variety of full-time, part-time and flexible opportunities available, starting ASAP or September 2026.

You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing, including working with individuals and small groups, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• School or nursery experience would be advantageous.
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and adaptable.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with classroom activities and learning.
• Working with individuals and small groups.
• Providing additional support to pupils who require extra help.
• Supporting classroom management.
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Working alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
