Job summary

St. Thomas More R.C. Primary School in Middleton, Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the school team from October/November 2026. This temporary, term-time role offers 31.25 hours per week within a supportive Catholic school environment.

The successful candidate will have a passion for helping pupils progress, work well in a team, be innovative and motivated, and engage with parents to provide excellent support. The school values safeguarding and professional development.

Qualifications

• Have high expectations and a proven track record in supporting children in making excellent pupil progress.
• Be a supportive colleague and play a full part in departmental planning as a key member of a team.
• Be innovative and highly motivated.
• Be able to monitor standards and progress with the view to further develop improvement.
• Be able to work with parents and carers in providing excellent support.
• The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
• Appointments subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Background check.
