Job summary

Engage Partners Limited in Sutton invites applications for a KS1 Teaching Assistant Apprentice at a welcoming primary school. You will gain practical classroom experience while working toward a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.

You will be trained in safeguarding, SEND, literacy and numeracy support, and learn how to create a positive, inclusive learning environment with ongoing guidance from experienced staff. DBS check required; full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and a caring, patient attitude.
• Eligibility to complete an apprenticeship.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Must have English and maths qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with lessons and activities
• Working with pupils individually and in small groups
• Helping children develop their reading, writing and numeracy skills
• Preparing classroom resources and learning materials
• Encouraging positive behaviour and participation
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Helping children develop their confidence and independence
• Supervising pupils during breaktimes and school activities
• Providing feedback to the class teacher about pupils’ progress
