Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant for Bristol and surrounding areas. The role involves supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1 and KS2, 1:1 and group work, and aiding with phonics, reading, writing and maths.

Immediate and ongoing opportunities across full-time, part-time and long-term placements. Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months of relevant UK experience, a patient and enthusiastic approach, and the ability to work well with teachers and pupils, including SEN

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months in UK education or related setting.
  • Experience in a primary school or similar environment.
  • Good understanding of classroom routines and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with learning and classroom activities.
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist with phonics, reading, writing and maths.
  • Support SEN pupils when required.
  • Promote confidence, independence and a positive attitude.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children in their learning and development?

Protocol Education is working with a range of primary schools across Bristol, looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams. We have opportunities available for candidates with experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and classroom activities
  • Working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils
  • Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and maths activities
  • Supporting pupils' social and emotional development
  • Helping teachers prepare and organise classroom resources
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Promoting confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience working with children or within an educational/support setting
  • Previous experience in a primary school or similar environment
  • Good understanding of classroom routines and behaviour management
  • A patient, supportive and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, but not essential
