Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Market Rasen
Salary: £85 – £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are inviting applications for a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Market Rasen. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a nurturing and engaging environment.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to provide essential support in the classroom, helping to create a positive learning experience for pupils. You will assist with lesson delivery, engage with small groups and individuals, and help to maintain a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.

Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning activities in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning and provide additional support.
  • Assist in the development of lesson materials, ensuring resources are prepared and accessible.
  • Encourage and support pupils’ social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour.
  • Provide targeted interventions for pupils with additional learning needs, helping to close attainment gaps.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all children feel valued.
  • Support teachers with assessment and progress tracking, providing feedback where necessary.
  • Assist with school activities, outings, and extracurricular events, contributing to the wider school community.

Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting (preferred).
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children, with a nurturing and patient approach.
  • A strong understanding of child development and primary education.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, supporting the overall success of the class.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
