Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Stechford

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant (Resource Base SEN Support)
Location: Stechford, Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time Only

Are you on the look out for a new full time role for the new academic year in September 2025? We are seeking a nurturing and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant to join the resource base team within a small mainstream primary school in Stechford , Birmingham.

Role Overview:
As a Resource Base Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work within this base with students both as a group , and with specialist support on a 1:1 basis to support their learning and development. Your role will be crucial in helping the child to access the curriculum, providing tailored support in the classroom and ensuring they feel confident and motivated to reach their potential.

About You:

  • Experience of working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with children - children in the resource base need someone committed to build that friendly face and rapport with.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to adapt to different needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
