Job Description:

The school located near Woking provides support for children aged 9-16 years with learning and behavioural needs due to social, emotional, and mental health challenges. All students have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) detailing their specific needs. Pupils may struggle with forming relationships, experience high anxiety, and display challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver primary curriculum as intervention lessons for KS3/4 pupils, bridging learning gaps, and building confidence and self-esteem.
  2. Teach subjects including maths and English.
  3. Manage behaviour and support students' learning and participation.
  4. Encourage social skills development and support individual needs.
  5. Participate in team meetings and training.
  6. Support safeguarding regulations.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent, with evidence of in-service training.
  2. Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with ASC and SEND.
  3. Experience delivering differentiated curricula to pupils with diverse needs.
  4. Additional qualifications in SEND are desirable.
  5. Knowledge of ASC/SEMH students with complex needs.
  6. Understanding of the national curriculum.
  7. Knowledge of autism and related co-morbid conditions affecting learning.
Summary:

Role: Primary Teacher - Mental Health - Trauma, Woking
Salary: £140 - £220 per day
Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, term-time only
Type: Full-time/Part-time, flexible hours, short/long-term contracts
Start: May 2025 or later
