Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a dedicated PPA Teacher to cover pre-planned lessons in a Sutton Coldfield primary school. You will deliver engaging lessons across different year groups during class teachers' PPA time, maintaining positive behaviour and supporting learning throughout the day.

This role requires QTS and solid knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum KS1–KS2, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and UK primary school experience.
• Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum across KS1 and KS2.
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting quickly to different classroom environments.
• Effective behaviour management skills and the ability to engage pupils across different year groups.
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with a flexible and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a PPA Teacher to work at one of our partner primary schools in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. This position is starting in January 2027 and offers the opportunity to deliver pre-planned lessons across different primary year groups, without the additional responsibility of planning.

The school are looking for a confident and adaptable PPA Teacher to provide classroom cover while permanent teachers complete their Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining positive classroom behaviour and ensuring pupils remain focused and supported throughout the school day.

As a PPA Teacher, you will be responsible for:

Required Skills and Experience as a PPA Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and previous experience teaching within a UK primary school.
• A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting quickly to different classroom environments.
• Effective behaviour management skills and the ability to engage pupils across different year groups.
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with a flexible and reliable approach.

Working as a PPA Teacher for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

• £174.71 to £240.71 per day, equating to £34,069 to £46,940 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (195 days), dependent on experience and days worked.
