Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a qualified Primary Teacher for a full-time, long-term role in Birkenhead. You will plan and deliver engaging KS2 lessons, maintain strong classroom management, and differentiate to meet individual needs, including pupils with ASD/ADHD. The role starts January 2027 with potential for permanency.

The position requires QTS, UK KS2 experience, and a good knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. A supportive team and competitive daily pay rates are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (experienced teachers preferred)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 / KS2 in a UK primary school
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ASD and ADHD
• Excellent knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Strong classroom management and the ability to differentiate lessons to meet individual learning needs
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and supporting pupils

Job Title: Primary Teacher

Location: Birkenhead

Start Date: January 2027

Salary: £150 - £165 per day

Are you a qualified Primary Teacher with excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 2 / KS2 curriculum?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Birkenhead, who are looking to appoint an experienced Primary Teacher. The school supports pupils with a range of learning abilities, including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND, and is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Primary Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis from January 2027, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Primary Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 2 / KS2, maintaining strong classroom management and adapting teaching strategies to support pupils with additional needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (experienced teachers preferred)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 / KS2 in a UK primary school
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ASD and ADHD
• Excellent knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Strong classroom management and the ability to differentiate lessons to meet individual learning needs
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and supporting pupils
