Job summary

Haeata Community Campus in Canterbury seeks a certificated primary school teacher to join the Year 1 to 3 Hikuawa team. The successful applicant will contribute to raising attainment through trauma-based teaching practices and a cohesive high-performing team.

This long-term relieving role is supported by board-funded staffing for core foundational learning for Years 0 to 10, with a Start Date of 28/01/2027 and a focus on reading, writing and mathematics by 2030.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher licensed to teach in primary school.
• Experience across Years 1–3 preferred.
• Familiar with trauma-informed teaching approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons across Years 1–3.
• Support learning in reading, writing and mathematics.
• Collaborate with the Hikuawa team to raise ākonga achievement.
