Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a flexible Primary Supply Teacher to join our Portsmouth roster. You can choose your available days and gain varied experience across local primary schools.

For daily bookings you will deliver work prepared by the school, following policies and safeguarding rules, while building rapport with pupils and staff. A QTS or equivalent qualification is required.

Qualifications

• A Primary Supply Teacher must hold QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification enabling them to teach in UK schools.
• Reliable, organised and comfortable entering unfamiliar classrooms.
• Ability to establish expectations quickly across different schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on experience.
• Follow the school's lesson plans and routines.
• Adapt explanations where pupils need additional support.
• Maintain clear and positive behaviour expectations.
• Work effectively with Teaching Assistants.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies.
• Keep pupils engaged throughout the school day.
• Provide a useful handover for permanent staff.

For daily bookings, the Primary Supply Teacher will normally deliver work prepared by the school rather than taking on the planning workload associated with a permanent class teacher position.
