We are currently working with a Special Needs school in South East London who have an opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their school as soon as possible.
The Role
In this role you will be working in a class of 5 primary age pupils, all who have complex needs and ASD. Pupils in the class can display challenging behaviour and may require support to calm situations and could need restraining. There are 5 adults in the class who provide 1 to 1 support to pupils on a rota. You will be working with every child in the class at different points in the week. The pupils will require personal care, support with eating and daily tasks as well as support in lessons. You will be using a variety of teaching and communication methods including PECS and Attention Autism.
The school is looking for a teaching assistant who is very confident and open to providing care and support to young children with this level of complex needs. They are open to applications from Special Needs Teaching Assistants with previous experience or care settings, or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector.
