Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with a heart for inclusive education? We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary SENCo to join an outstanding two-form entry school in Hackney, London. As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

SENCo Role

Details:

  1. Part Time (3-4 days a week)
  2. Immediate Start
  3. Temp to Perm Contract
  4. Salary - Paid to Scale + SEN allowance and TLR

As the Primary SENCo, you will:

  1. Lead and Develop Strategies: Be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and evaluating effective strategies to support the learning and development of children with special educational needs.
  2. Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  3. Individualized Support Plans: Develop and oversee personalized support plans, ensuring they are tailored to each child's unique strengths and challenges.
  4. Liaise with Parents: Foster strong partnerships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and offering guidance on how they can support their child's learning at home.
  5. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and support for staff to enhance their understanding of special educational needs, fostering a culture of inclusivity within the school community.
  6. Inclusive Curriculum: Collaborate with curriculum coordinators to ensure our curriculum is accessible and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  7. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess the impact of SEN provision, collecting and analysing data to make informed decisions and continuously improve support services.
  8. SENCo Leadership Role: Assume a leadership role within the school, advocating for the rights of students with special educational needs and championing inclusive practices.
