Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Specialists to join partner primary schools across South Liverpool. This full-time role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils overcome behavioural, emotional, and learning barriers to access the curriculum and enjoy school life.

The ideal candidate has experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, a patient and proactive approach, and a solid understanding of safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour, ideally in a school or care setting.
  • A patient, resilient and caring approach.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards engaging pupils in their learning.
  • Child-related Manual Handling qualifications are highly desired and previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour is essential for the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted behaviour and learning support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
  • Implement, review and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and effective approach for each child.
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe and supported.
  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques to help pupils regulate and engage.
