Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with SEND/SEN needs at a specialist school near Weston-super-Mare. This full-time, on-site role offers consistent classroom support, helping pupils engage with learning and manage SEMH/SEND needs on a daily basis.

You will join a supportive team, with a driving licence and access to transport, and benefit from market-leading rates of pay and ongoing CPD opportunities through the My-Progression channel.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND / SEN.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Confidence working with primary-aged pupils.
• A full UK driving licence and access to transport.
• A patient, resilient and supportive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent classroom support for primary-aged pupils.
• Help pupils engage with learning and manage SEMH/SEND needs.
• Support pupils to stay focused and engaged during lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement learning plans.
