Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a caring Teaching Assistant for a friendly primary school in Wigan (WN2). The role is temp-to-perm term-time, full-time hours 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with pay of £95-£100 per day paid weekly via PAYE.

Start date ASAP and a supportive consultant will guide you through placement. You will support individuals and groups, deliver interventions in phonics, reading, maths and language, assist pupils with SEND, help maintain a calm classroom, and provide

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Warmth, patience and enjoyment of working with children.
• Good communication with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Ability to stay calm and positive in a busy environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals, small groups and whole classes with learning activities.
• Deliver planned interventions in phonics, reading, maths and language.
• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, to access the curriculum.
• Maintain a calm, positive and well-organised learning environment.
• Encourage good behaviour, independence and resilience.
• Support pupils' social and emotional wellbeing.
• Prepare resources and share observations with teachers.
• Supervise pupils at break times and lunchtimes.
