Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. This full-time, long-term role supports children in the foundation phase, assisting teachers and helping pupils reach their full potential within safeguarding guidelines.

The role offers a competitive daily rate from £95, with regular pay reviews, ongoing training, and a welcoming school community that values inclusion and high standards of learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, preferably within a primary education environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively support pupils and staff.
• Passion for helping children learn, develop, and achieve their goals.
• A reliable, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Providing general classroom support to teachers and pupils within the foundation phase, ensuring smooth lesson delivery.
• Assisting in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment tailored to diverse student needs.
• Supporting the delivery of planned lessons and activities, ensuring all pupils are actively engaged and motivated.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development among students, promoting a safe and respectful atmosphere.
• Supporting individual pupils' needs to help them reach their full academic and social potential.
• Collaborating with staff to plan and implement tailored work that aligns with curriculum requirements and sector best practice.
